Job Description

A Staff Scientist position is available at the Wistar Institute in the Villanueva Laboratory. The Villanueva Lab studies mechanisms of drug resistance in melanoma. Candidates must have significant expertise in both basic and advanced cellular and molecular biology, with a strong focus on mechanistic investigation. Expertise in development of novel pre-clinical models including generation of iPSC-derived cells, organoid co-cultures and humanized mice. Strong candidates will have a strong knowledge base in melanoma, immunology, and track record of independently driving high-impact projects, evidenced by publications and funding.

Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) degree and a minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral experience and demonstrate a track record of first author as well as collaborative publications. Experience in the following areas is required: cancer biology, immunology, molecular biology, cell culture, flow cytometry, mouse models and in vivo studies.
