With expert knowledge and autonomy, this position leads the most complex engagements, drives growth, and delivers measurable business results through actionable strategies and visionary leadership.
Job Responsibilities and Skills
- Serves as the primary strategic client liaison across digital and omnichannel engagements, leveraging knowledge of core deliverables - such as email, websites, and interactive visual aids, etc. - to align client objectives with agency capabilities.
- Leads development of clear project scopes and translates digital deliverables into confident communication for clients and internal teams.
- Partners with digital strategy and omnichannel leads to shape program recommendations, ensuring client-facing proposals accurately reflect the strategic rationale of digital initiatives.
- Provides senior-level oversight to account teams, holding teams accountable to quality, compliance, and milestone adherence across pharmaceutical marketing programs.
- Stays current with the evolving AI and digital tool landscape and encourages their appropriate use within account workflows to drive efficiency.
- Possesses foundational understanding of digital media planning and buying to provide informed oversight of external media partners.
- Gather, analyze, and synthesize information from clients, partners, and market data to guide advanced decision-making and innovative solutions.
- Craft, drive, and implement targeted strategies and account plans tailored to specific client objectives, leveraging both internal resources and external factors.
- Lead high-level new business pitches, oversee client onboarding, and design sales programs to meet ambitious revenue and growth targets.
- Maintain proactive communication with clients throughout all phases of engagement, ensuring satisfaction, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Address the most complex business challenges, independently making sound recommendations and referring only critical issues to senior leadership.
- Generate business development opportunities by growing existing accounts and acquiring new clients, consistently exceeding key performance indicators.
- Oversee account financials, budgets, and reporting for multiple complex accounts at the division or national level, focusing on profitability and retention.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture and lead change management initiatives as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field required, advanced degree preferred.
- Typically requires 6 or more years of progressive, relevant experience managing division or national-level accounts and leading account teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in account management, sales program development, and strategic client relationship management.
- Strong customer/client orientation and ability to build trust at executive levels.
- Advanced oral and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven leadership, originality, and problem-solving abilities in challenging environments.
- Account management skills and strategic vision for client business growth.
- Self-motivation and ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
