Pharmacy technicians, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, help the pharmacists provide medication and other health care products to patients and consumers. Technicians usually perform routine tasks to help prepare prescribed medication, such as counting tablets and labeling bottles.

Qualifications:
  • Registered with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy
  • Possesses strong communication skills
  • Must be compassionate and patient attentive
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be proficient with basic computer skills
  • Provides teamwork and positive oriented attitude and flexibility
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Highly reliable
  • Pharmacy technician experience preferred

Responsibilities:
  • Accepting new prescriptions from patients
  • Accepting new prescriptions orally from physician offices
  • Call physician offices for prescription renewals, documenting all responses
  • Prescription data entry
  • Resolution of reimbursement issues
  • Prescription and controlled substance bottle filling
  • Simple routine compounding
  • Labeling of prescriptions
  • Perpetual inventory ordering, receiving and review
  • Pricing merchandise
  • Reviewing medication expiration dates
  • Perform high standard of customer service
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear
  • The employee is required to use hands to operate vehicles and office equipment
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
  • Specific vision requirements for this job include: close, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
