What is a PCA?
A Personal Care Attendant (PCA) provides resident care in accordance with provisions of Section 400.211, Florida Statutes. Upon completion of all required training, and as permitted by law, Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) will perform certain care procedures currently delivered by Certified Nursing Assistants. PCAs may not care for any resident in isolation.

Education and Experience:
• • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• • Successful completion of PCA Eight (8) Hour Pre-Service Course (5-hour classroom training, and 3-hour supervised simulation/competency check-off), and continued On-the-Job Training.
• • Experience in a long-term-care setting, hospital or clinical setting preferred, but not required.
Background Screening Requirement:
This position requires background screening through the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
