Job Description
This Outreach Lab Tech II a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } role supports laboratory and pathology operations by processing and preparing specimens, staining and assembling slides, entering patient data, and maintaining laboratory instruments and records. Responsibilities also include client service support, specimen pickup, outreach coordination with clinics, handling billing inquiries, completing medical transcriptions, and ensuring timely, accurate delivery of materials to pathologists.

Certification/Skills:
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum Experience:
1 year of relevant experience required
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
Position Summary:
Provides technical skills for the performance of basic laboratory tasks required in the preparing and analyzing of various specimens.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Essential Functions
- Logs patient data into computer system ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Stains and coverslips slides. Assembles and delivers slides to Pathologists.
- Labels biopsy cassettes and prepares biopsy specimens for grossing using routine techniques.
- Processes and aliquots samples in preparation for further testing.
- Answers laboratory phone and triages client service concerns.
- Files slides and paperwork.
- Performs and documents instrument and stain maintenance.
- Acquires laboratory specimens from nearby contracted clinics and doctors' offices.
- Markets Outreach Laboratory services to outside clinics and doctors' offices.
- Handles billing questions/problems from contracted clinics and doctors' offices. Resolves all issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Completes medical transcriptions in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
- Moderate typing skills and medical terminology course or medical transcription skills.
- DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State , clean record required
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
