JOB SUMMARY:
This Director of Operations is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and administration of laboratory testing, support services, financial and business operations of the laboratory.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the operations.
- Interact regularly with the operations and executive teams to ensure operational priorities are aligned with the company direction.
- Ensure that all systems, processes, and procedures employed provide the required quality, responsiveness, and efficiency required for all aspects of pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of the testing process, including coordination and documentation of overall Quality Management Program.
- In collaboration with PathGroup leadership, participate and contribute to business development projects, marketing, sales, and client support activities.
- Participate and contribute to enterprise initiatives and standardization across pathology testing locations.
- Provide support to PathGroup subsidiaries and pathology laboratories throughout the enterprise as necessary.
- Ensure effective employee relations by sustaining an ethical, non-discriminatory, and safe work environment and establishing effective communication lines and methods. Identify and solve employee problems, manage conflict, and respond to grievances as needed.
- Establish and execute departmental long and short-term goals. Assist in the strategic development of the laboratory services.
- Achieve budget profitability objectives through controlling costs and/or increasing market share by effectively utilizing personnel and resources.
- Maintain appropriate standards to meet all licensing and regulatory requirements and uphold company policies and integrity.
- Exercise all laboratory safety precautions and adhere to lab procedures as stated in procedure manuals.
- Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the industry's best security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information and other sensitive company data.
- Must be familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all corporate policies, including the Privacy and Security policies.
EDUCATION & LICENSURE:
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Maintain appropriate continuing education for certification/licensure and to increase basic knowledge.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of five years of experience with relevant anatomic pathology and tools is required.
- Management experience is required, preferably in a healthcare setting
