The Department of Recreational Services is seeking a Coordinator, Recreation Center Operations to join the already awesome team, taking the department to the next level of excellence!

Georgia State University Department of Recreational Services is searching for an outstanding candidate to fill the role of Coordinator, Recreation Center Operations.
Provide multi-campus facility supervision and coordination of all Recreation operations at Perimeter College. This position will be primarily split between the Decatur and Newton campuses and may have a limited presence at any other Perimeter campus and Atlanta campus as needed.
Informal Recreation Activity: Supervise daily operation of drop-in activity space that includes cardio/strength rooms, game areas, basketball/tennis courts, outside field space, and pool (if applicable).
Staffing: Responsible for hiring, training, and supervision of 1-2 Hourly Professionals (s) and 40+ student staff who monitor those areas. Manage student staff and instructor payroll and timecards. Develop and enforce drop-in use and staffing policies and procedures based on industry standards, university policies, and patron eligibility. Responsible for assisting with the development of the annual budget and working within the parameters of the campus-specific budgets.
Intramural and Special Events: Coordinate intramural events that include league, tournaments, team, and individual competition. Hire, supervise, evaluate, and schedule officials and scorekeepers. Develop and enforce policies and procedures for staff responsibilities and program offerings. Supervise and monitor the registration process for participants. Collect program and entry data for semester and annual reporting.
Group Exercise and Outdoor Programs: Coordinate group exercise classes to include hiring, supervising, evaluating, scheduling, and payroll for qualified instructors. Develop and enforce policies and procedures for group fitness instructors' responsibilities and program offerings. Supervise and monitor the registration process for participant in recreation software system. Led 2 Touch the Earth trips each semester. Complete necessary training to lead an outdoor trip and to drive a university vehicle.
Risk Management: Ensure equipment and environments are safe for participants. Daily review of equipment status, initiate repairs, and coordinate replacements as needed. Review and update annually emergency action procedures relevant to activity and staffing. Teach, train, and ensure that all staff members maintain current CPR, AED, First Aid and Epi pen certifications relevant to their specific area of responsibility.

Qualifications:

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Recreation, Sports Administration, Hospitality Management or related field
- 3-5 years recreation management experience with an emphasis on park, recreation, and special event facilities, operations, and administration; direct experience with various facets of position duties.
- Experience in student development (including hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, payroll, and evaluation).
- Ability to work independently.
- CPR and First Aid certifications (or obtained within 3 months of employment) and a current driver's license for travel and recreation outdoor trips.
